CHERITON -- While many people focused on Easter Sunday services, people along a stretch of Seaside Road spent part of their morning concentrating on Northampton County Sheriff's Office's cars.
Deputies found the body of 35-year-old Bryan Keith Elliott inside the home he'd moved to just a week ago.
47-year-old Gary Aaron Coble of Cape Charles was arrested without incident on Wednesday after officers received a tip about his whereabouts, Northampton Co. Sheriff David L. Doughty, Jr. told WVEC.com.
A friend said Elliott will be missed.
"Grade-A guy, man. A hard worker. He's been a good friend of mine for a very long time," said Alan Lewis, who worked with Elliott and who lived with him a couple of times before Elliott moved to Seaside Road.
"It was devastating. It really was to hear something like that to happen to one of your good friends, you know, you don't really cope with that too well," shared Lewis. "There was a lot of times I'd struggle, you know, with certain situations, and he'd tell me, 'You've got to keep your head up. You've got to stay in there,' you know."
Deputies have not said how Elliott died. They say they found his body around 6:30 a.m.
Coble is charged with 1st degree murder, use of a firearm while committing murder, possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony, possession of ammunition after being convicted of a felony.
Authorities didn't release any information about a motive for the murder.
