VIRGINIA BEACH - Police say a folding knife was found in a student's backpack at Bayside High School in Va. Beach.
The investigation forced the school, located at 4960 Haygood Road, to be on internal lockdown for about half an hour.
The backpack was in the boy's gym locker and officers spoke with the student. Police say the youngster maybe charged for having a weapon on school grounds.
Police stress no threats were made and no one was hurt.
The school will be issuing an Alert Now call to parents to inform them of the situation, Jennifer McCarrel with Va. Beach Schools told WVEC.com
