NEWPORT NEWS-The last day of 2013 brought some snow flurries and sleet to Hampton Roads.  

Emails and posts to the WVEC13 Facebook page from Smithfield to Williamsburg to Va. Beach and the Eastern Shore started coming in around 6:00 a.m.

"Flurries around Pleasure House Road," wrote Gabriela Kelly around 6:10 a.m.

Around 8:00 a.m., reports were coming in from across the region.

"We had flurries in Lee Hall area," said Wendy Harris.

"Flurries in Fox Hill (Hampton"), "Flurries in Norfolk" and "it's coming down pretty good in Oyster Point (Newport News)" others posted.

13News Now Meteorologist Craig Moeller says "Skies are clearing from the west, and we will enjoy lots of sunshine through the afternoon."

As for the New Year's forecast, Moeller says tonight will be clear and seasonably chilly with lows near 32° and we'll start 2014 with mostly sunny skies, highs should reach 50°.
