NORFOLK -- Fire that badly damaged a Norfolk home is under investigation.

Someone called to report seeing flames and lots of smoke in the area of E. Balview Avenue just after midnight.

Firefighters arrived and found flames coming out of all sides of the house, said Battalion Chief Julian Williamson.

Neighbors say the fire was so large they were concerned that it might spread, but Williamson said crews were able to contain the fire.

It took them about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.

Neighbors said no one was living in the two-story home.
