VIRGINIA BEACH--The family and friends of a Virginia Beach woman, who has been missing for 12 years, gathered Monday night for a vigil they hope will call attention to her case.

On Nov. 11th, 2000,  nearly 12 years ago, Hope Renee Curry, 23, walked to a gas station to use a pay phone and never returned, according to a report in the Virginian Pilot. . She told her brother, who had just moved into a nearby condo, that she was going to invite a friend over for pizza. She was never heard from again.

According to the Pilot, ever since her disappearance, her family has been doing everything possible to keep her case before the public in hopes that someone knows what happened to her.

About 20 people attended the vigil which was held at the Virginia Beach Law Enforcement Training Academy off Birdneck Road.

Anyone with any knowledge of Curry's whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up.
