Outback Steakhouse fire
NEWPORT NEWS -- Fire investigators say Monday's fire at Outback Steakhouse at Patrick Henry Mall was intentionally set to cover a burglary.
Crews found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building around 3:35 a.m.
The business had a working fire detection/alarm system, which notified the fire department, allowing firefighters to quickly get to the scene.
The fire was ruled under control about an hour later.
Because of the ongoing investigation, authorities aren't revealing details of the arson or items that were taken.
