JAMES CITY COUNTY -- Undercover drug agents seized a large amount of marijuana from a house last week in James City County and arrested a suspected drug dealer.
Quang Nguyen, 25, was arrested on August 20 at his home on Canal Street after a package was delivered to the door and he accepted it. Police say the package from California contained marijuana.
Armed with a search warrant, members of the James City County Swat team, the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force and State Police entered the home and found a sizable amount of marijuana in a bedroom closet and more in a china cabinet.
According to court documents, about 14 pounds of marijuana was recovered from the house located in the Lanexa area. A pistol and cash were also confiscated.
Deputy Chief Stephen Rubino called the suspect a middle-level drug dealer.
Nguyen is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, transporting more than 5-pounds of marijuana in the state and possession of a firearm while distributing.
A neighbor tells 13News Now several children and adults lived in the house with Nguyen. Since his arrest, they say family members come by the house and check on the chickens in the backyard, but no one is living there.
