NEWPORT NEWS -- A Hampton man died when his car crashed in Newport News on Sunday morning.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. at Jefferson Avenue and J. Clyde Morris Boulevard.
Police say 50-year-old Charles Bell dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicate Bell was traveling south on Jefferson when his car crossed into the northbound lanes and into the parking lot of a Walgreens. His car hit the steel guard rail that separates Walgreens from Tire City Store, crashed into steel and concrete poles in the center of the Tire City parking lot and rolled onto its side.
An autopsy will be done to determine what caused Bell's death.
