NORFOLK -- Crews are working to surface an overturned barge inside of Colonna's Shipyard on E. Indian River Road.
Colonna's Shipyard is a ship repair facility located in the Port of Norfolk.
A crew of about a dozen men -- including managers -- who were watching the process expressed frustration Thursday afternoon as they tried to find a way to lift the barge.
Norfolk Police Department spokesman Officer Daniel Hudson said employees were working to put a container on a barge with a crane, when the crane shifted.
Three employees had to swim to shore when the barge started to tilt, Hudson said.
The Coast Guard tells WVEC.com there no pollution was released into the water.
