Portsmouth apartment fire
PORTSMOUTH -- Investigators say an electrical problem sparked fire that damaged two units in an apartment building Thursday night.
Crews were called to Number One High Street in Olde Towne around 9:25 p.m. and found fire coming from a fifth floor apartment.
Investigators determined the fire started in the bedroom of that unit.
The building was evacuated as a precaution.
Everyone was allowed to return to their homes except the people who lived in the apartment where the fire started and the one directly below, which has significant water damage, according to Capt. Paul Hoyle.
