HAMPTON -- A Newport News man was arrested in connection with a robbery at Langley Federal Credit Union on West Mercury Boulevard.
Hampton Police got the call around 11:18 a.m on February 27.
A man handed a teller a note demanding money and implying he had a gun, Cpl. Mary Shackelford told WVEC.com.
He got money and walked out.
None of the customers or employees were hurt, according to tweets from the Hampton Police Department.
The accused robber was identified as Fred Lee Lawson.
Images of the 52-year-old were captured on surveillance video.
Hampton Police were able to make an arrest after receiving a tip from the Crime Line.
Lawson was arrested and charged with one count of bank robbery and one count of burglary.
