1/10 UPDATE: The crack in the track at Kidd Blvd. has been repaired.
Trains are back at normal operations.

NORFOLK-The Tide is moving a bit slower than usual because of a crack in the track.

“We found it this morning in the eastbound track  near Kidd Blvd. It's weather-related," said Tom Holden, spokesman for Hampton Roads Transit.

He say speed has been lowered in that area while crews come up with a plan for repairs.

"We have a 10 mph speed restriction in place - about 600 feet of track," Holden told WVEC.com.

It could be a matter of sawing out a portion of the track and installing one, he explained.

Holden said HRT regularly inspects the track, especially in intense cold.
