UPDATE 4/2/14: Police made an arrest Wednesday in connection to a shooting on Ivy Avenue Monday evening.
Antonio J. Crews, 25, of Newport News was arrested at his home Wednesday and has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Police say after a 22-year-old man was shot in the 600 block of Aqua Vista Drive, Crews, who is an acquaintance of the victim, chased after the suspected shooter.
Once in the 600 block of Ivy Avenue, Crews discharged his firearm, striking Teunsha Vick's vehicle in the crossfire.
Police say Vick was not the intended target of the shooting.
Police continue to investigate the shooting of the 22-year-old man and ask that anyone with information to please call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
UPDATE 4/1/14: Teunsha Vick says forensics were at her mother's house Tuesday morning retrieving bullets from her car.
Police, meantime, say they're looking into the possibility that this Ivy Avenue shooting is connected with one on Aqua Vista Drive that happened just before 8 p.m. Monday.
A man was treated for a gunshot to his buttocks.
NEWPORT NEWS -- Police are searching for the person who shot at a Newport News woman as she was sitting in her car Monday night.
The shooting happened in the 600 block of Ivy Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Monday.
That's when the gunman walked up to the car of 28-year-old Teunsha Vick, shot out her winds and ran off, police said.
"The guy just walked out and came out in the middle street and I ducked down and I tried to spin the car to get away from the bullets and then he started shooting more at the back of the car," said Teunsha Vick.
Teunsha, who is the daughter of Newport News city councilwoman Tina Vick and cousin of NFL quarterback Michael Vick, was not injured.
