Coast Guard medevacs man near Oregon Inlet, NC

PORTSMOUTH -- The Coast Guard medevaced a 44-year-old man Thursday who was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains.

The the 51-foot fishing vessel Bite ME was approximately 35 miles northeast of Oregon Inlet, N.C.

A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., arrived on the scene and hoisted one of the EMS members and the man aboard and transported them to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

No word on the man's condition.
