NORFOLK -- A boy who may have been involved in drug use was treated after a car hit him Saturday afternoon.

Police received a call at about 1:00 p.m. that some children may have been using drugs in a vacant building in or near Titustown.

When officers got to the building, the children ran. Police followed on foot. At one point, one of the boys ran into West Little Creek Road. A car hit him in the 1300 block. The driver of the car stayed there.

Paramedics took the boy to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Police department spokeswoman Karen Parker-Chesson said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police did not charge the driver. They are continuing their investigation.
