CHESAPEAKE - A 7-year-old boy was hit in the leg by his mother's vehicle as he was dropped off at school.

Police and rescue crews arrived at Camelot Elementary School on Guenevere Drive just before 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

Chesapeake Police spokeswoman Officer Kelly O'Sullivan told WVEC.com the boy stumbled as he got out of the SUV and somehow was hit in the leg by the vehicle.

"He was conscious, talking and breathing," O'Sullivan said.

The boy was transported to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, she added.
