VIRGINIA BEACH - A child was hit by a car Thursday afternoon, Va. Beach Police said.
It happened around 12:20 p.m. near the intersection of Donna Drive and First Colonial Road.
Police spokeswoman MPO Tonya Borman said a woman was crossing the road with two children when she was grazed by a car. One of the children couldn't stop and was hit by that car.
As the driver swerved to avoid the people, it struck a car, which then hit a third vehicle.
The eight-year-old boy has serous but not life-threatening injuries, Borman noted, adding that the youngster was taken to the hospital.
The second child wasn't hurt and the woman should be okay.
The investigation into the incident continues.
