CHESAPEAKE -- A Chesapeake school was put on lockdown Thursday morning following a nearby robbery.

Police said B.M. Williams Primary School on N. Battlefield Blvd. was put on lockdown as a precaution after someone robbed the TitleMax down the street.

A school spokeswoman said the lockdown lasted about 15 minutes and was done at the request of police.

According to police, a man armed with a handgun entered TitleMax around 10:40 a.m. and demanded money.

Nobody was injured in the robbery and police continue looking for the suspect who ran from the business.
