CHESAPEAKE--Investigators with the Chesapeake Fire Marshal’s Office say they have located what appears to be illegal dumping at a site leased by TME Enterprises.

TME is the company contracted by VDOT to do road maintenance on area highways, including patching the potholes on I-264.

Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department says investigators found what appears to be road debris illegally dumped on property owned by VDOT but leased by TME Enterprises, Inc.

Chesapeake officials went to a site in the 3900 block of S. Military Highway Friday afternoon after Norfolk Fire investigators say they found TME illegally dumping at a similar site in their city.

The Chesapeake Fire Marshal’s Office, along with representatives from The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, will conduct a follow-up investigation next Tuesday.
