NORFOLK -- Emergency sewer repairs will close a busy Downtown Norfolk intersection.

Beginning May 1, weather permitting, Granby at Freemason streets will be closed for about month, but you'll still be able to get to businesses in the 300 block and 400 block of Granby.  Traffic will be detoured to Monticello Avenue and Boush Street.

No sewer service should be disrupted, officials with the Department of Public Utilities said.

Also on Freemason Street, the road will be closed from Granby Street to Madison Mews for building construction. The south sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians. That closure should be lifted in early May.
