VIRGINIA BEACH -- Beach police officer Brian Mileski will be getting the keys to his new home in RiverLake, the first Workforce Housing development in Virginia Beach.

The Workforce Housing Program was created to improve affordable housing opportunities for vital members of our community - our teachers, police officers, firefighters, nurses, medical technicians, military personnel, retail workers, recent college graduates and young families.

The program helps eligible buyers purchase a Workforce Housing unit with special financing that allows for more affordable monthly mortgage payments.

Mayor Will Sessoms and other city leaders will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday and tour the new community.
