1/10 UPDATE: Hakeem Jean-Pierre was arrested January 9 and charged with robbery.

NORFOLK - Police are trying to find the person who just robbed a bank in downtown Norfolk.

Authorities say they received several calls, including some from Towne Bank on E. Main Street, reporting the robbery just after noon Thursday.

Officer Chris Amos says the man walked into the bank, demanded money and then ran out with the cash.

"He didn't show any weapon and no one was hurt," Amos added.

The robber is described as black, about 5'10" tall, who was wearing a dark sweatshirt that was partly pulled over his face and dark jeans.

One witness told 13News Now the suspect looked apprehensive right before he went in to rob the bank.

Anyone with information can call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
