VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police are investigating two suspicious deaths in Virginia Beach.

According to police spokeswoman Tonya Borman, two bodies were discovered in a home by a family member in the 2200 block of Chick's Beach Court  on Wednesday afternoon.

Neighbors say a mother and her young daughter live in the house. They moved in about a year ago.

Police say the family member hadn't heard from the woman and went to the home to check on her.

No one knows if the victims were the residents or not.

Brian Longtin lives next door. He doesn't personally know his neighbors, but says he's often seen the woman of the house and she's always been friendly.

"I haven't seen her in a few days. The last time I saw her she was vacuuming out her car and she said hi like always," said Longtin.

Police have not released the names or gender of the victims.
