ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — The state is investigating a gasoline leak that polluted a small stream in Roanoke County.
Allen Linkenhoker with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality says an estimated 50 to 100 gallons of gasoline linked into a small tributary of Carvins Creek. The leak was reported Thursday night.
Linkenhoker says the gasoline appeared to be coming from an old concrete storm drain.
The leak was contained to about a 200-foot area of the creek. Absorbents are being used to clean up the gasoline.
