Noon update: All lanes have reopened; no charges have been placed.

NEWPORT NEWS -- Rush hour on I-64 in Newport News slowed down a bit because of a three-vehicle accident.

It happened around 8 a.m. eastbound at Jefferson Avenue, forcing police to close two lanes during the morning commute.

As of 10 a.m., the lanes were still closed because of debris and sludge in the road, Sgt. Michelle Anaya told WVEC.com.

A clean-up crew has been called to the area. It's unclear how long it will take for the lanes to reopen.

There were minor injuries reported, Sgt. Anaya added.
