GLOUCESTER-- A man scared off a robber at an ATM Saturday night.
Investigators say the man was trying to take out cash at Chesapeake bank on George Washington Memorial Highway. At that time, another man tried to rob him at gunpoint. Authorities say the victim told the gunman to back off, and the suspect ran away.
Police say the suspect was wearing a coat with a hoodie and had a partial face mask. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office at 804‐693‐3890 or tipsters can remain anonymous by contacting the Peninsula Crime Line at 888‐LOCK‐U‐UP, information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect could receive an award of up to $1000.00.
Chesapeake Bank out of concern for their customers is offering an additional $1,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect(s).
