CHESAPEAKE (AP) -- HSBC Card Service is closing its call center in Chesapeake.
The Virginian-Pilot reports that the Virginia Workforce Network posted a notice of the closure on its website this week. More than 160 jobs will be lost.
The center takes calls from customer credit card holders and handles collections. At its peak, it employed 1,200 people in 2007.
HSBC has declined to comment on its plans.
