NORFOLK -- A Virginia Beach man was killed when his car crashed on I-264 east Thursday morning.

Va. State Police investigators say the 2006 Acrua was speeding around 3:00 a.m.

They say the car went off the road near Ballentine Blvd., struck the jersey, went back across the lanes and ran off the other side of the road, struck a guard rail, went airborne, struck a light pole and control box and then overturned several times.

The three people inside were thrown from the vehicle; the driver died at the scene.

The two passengers were taken to the hospital.

The names of the victims haven't been released.
