HAMPTON --  A woman has been rushed to the hospital after the vehicle she was driving crashed through the storefront of barber shop in Hampton Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded the scene at First Class Barber Salon on Riverdale Drive around 8:35 a.m. Tuesday.

When authorities arrived on scene they found the driver trapped inside the vehicle. Once the woman was freed, she was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured.

Vinnie Brown owns Black Butterflies, a salon next door to the barber shop.

"My neighbor said it looked like the woman driving passed out," said Vinnie Brown. "Thank God no one was inside."

It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. An investigation is now underway.
