NORFOLK - A woman died Wednesday after she was ejected from a car that crashed into a van in Norfolk.

Police say 25-year-old Amber Rose Fayette Lewis was riding in the passenger seat when the speeding car she was in crashed into a van on Chesapeake Blvd. around 11:00 a.m. The car then veered into the median and flipped several times.

The three people in the car were taken to the hospital, where Lewis was pronounced dead, said Officer Chris Amos.

Amos said the two men taken to the hospital didn't suffer any major injuries.

No one in the van was hurt.

Lanes between the 3500 block and the 5700 block of Chesapeake Blvd. were closed much of the afternoon for the investigation.

Amos said any findings from their investigation will be forwarded to the Commonwealth Attorney to determine any charges that may be filed in connection with Lewis' death.
