NORFOLK- I was training with Ian Taylor, the man who came up with the concept of bicycle delivery in and around downtown Norfolk.
During my time as a Carry Norfolk employee, Taylor and I picked up a food order at Shady Grove, which sits at the corner of Botetourt and Bute streets. We packed up lunch orders for workers at 757 Creative Spaces on Granby Street, got on our bikes and off we went.
What kind of person does it take to a bike courier?
"Somebody that definitely has to be a happy person, someone that wants to serve others, someone who enjoys going out and riding their bicycle and then delivering the food or whatever else to the person," said Taylor.
He says the biggest selling point of his new business is the instant service of it all.
