VIRGINIA BEACH--Scorching temperatures this week have been hard on construction workers putting up the new parking garage at the Virginia Beach Town Center.

Vinny Walls has worked construction for 30 years and says the heat this week has been unbearable.

"I had heat stroke symptoms earlier in the week.  Never felt so bad.  Had to sit down, rest and put some food and water in me," said Walls.

Bill Councill agrees with his coworker and says he was also having a hard time.

"I am now 55 years old.  I look at these young kids work all day.  I have to stop and drink plenty of water," Councill said.

Both men said they look forward to cooler temperatures next week.
