VIRGINIA BEACH – 42-year-old Clint Johnson got sick late last month and a little more than a week later, he was dead.

His family believes H1N1 claimed his life.

“I’m not trying to put a panic out there, but you need to be serious about this,” Tamera Johnson said.

She say her husband went home sick from work on October 27.

He had a high fever and went downhill fast – from an initial diagnosis of the flu to life-ending pneumonia.

“(The doctors) did say that they felt it was H1N1,” she stated.

The health department can’t confirm whether his death was caused by H1N1.

A private funeral is set for Tuesday, according to his obituary.
