CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A local lawmaker has filed a bill to allow the use of medical marijuana in North Carolina.
Mecklenburg County State Representative Kelly Alexander is behind the legislation. He says his push comes after hearing stories of struggle from people with chronic pain, specifically veterans.
He also says the state could make big money-- anywhere from $100 to $200 million in tax revenue.
If the bill passes the House and Senate, it could be on the November ballot.
