RICHMOND (AP) -- President John F. Kennedy's daughter is coming to Virginia to stump for Obama.
Caroline Kennedy is planning stops in Portsmouth, Hampton, Richmond and Clifton on Saturday,
Kennedy endorsed Obama in late January, saying he had the potential to be a unifying and inspiring president like her father.
She helped direct Obama’s vice presidential search that ended with the selection of Sen. Joe Biden (D-Delaware).
Meantime, former Navy Secretary Richard Danzig will headline a canvass kickoff and meet with Obama volunteers Wednesday evening in Williamsburg.
Danzig served during the Clinton administration as the 71st Secretary of the Navy.
He’ll be at the campaign’s Williamsburg office at 110 Bacon Ave. beginning at 5:00 p.m.
A new Associated Press poll shows Democrat Barack Obama with a slight lead over Republican John McCain in Virginia, 49 percent to 42 percent with two percent undecided.
