What is it? A do-it-yourself furniture moving system.
What does it claim? That "even when you're home alone, you can move it on your own!" Plus the unique power bar, also called the EZ Moves furniture lifter, give you ten times your natural strength!
Who tested it? Rising University of Virginia freshman and Virginia Beach resident Mary Ann Goode.
What are the instructions? The first thing you need to do is assemble your furniture lifter. Just align the arrows on both the upper and lower parts of the lifter. Then squeeze both spring locks and interlock both parts of the lifter. You'll hear a click once it's in place. Now it's assembled and ready to use.
Insert the lifter under the leg or bottom of the furniture or item that sits directly on carpet or the floor. The lifter comes with a cap. It's important to note that using the lifter without the cap on a wood or linoleum floor can cause damage to the floor. But if you do remove the cap, it will reveal a beveled edge. That will make inserting the tip of the lifter between the furniture and the carpet or floor easier.
Now to the furniture slides: you need to slightly lift furniture using the furniture lifter and place one furniture slide foam side up under each corner of the item to be moved. Simply slide the item to move it. When you're finished, remove the slides and store them until the next use.
It's important to note that the makers of this product say that when moving large objects, you should know your limitations and ask for assistance if you need it. They say if you suffer from physical ailments like back, hip or knee problems you should consult your physician before using the product.
Did it work? Our tester thought it was great. She was not looking forward to moving the heavy wood in her dorm room, even with help. But after trying EZ Moves she says moving furniture is something she can do on her own.
