What is it? A microwave popcorn by Orville Redenbacher that comes in its own bowl.

What does it claim? To make snacking, sharing and clean up easier!

Who tested it?  Newport News resident and popcorn lover, Ann Amburn.

What Are The Instructions? It's pretty easy. Just like regular microwave popcorn,  you just unwrap the package.  Place it in the microwave with the side marked "this side up" facing up. Then set your popping time between two and two and a half minutes, depending on your microwave.  But do NOT use the popcorn button on your microwave! When the pops get to between one to two seconds, you should stop it. Over-cooking will cause scorching or burning.  Now take it out of the microwave. But remember the bag and the contents are hot, so handle carefully.

To remove the top from the bowl, do so carefully. Just hold the bag firmly at the spot clearly marked "HOLD HERE TO OPEN".  We found it worked better when we folded down the paper a little to get a better grip on the plastic film on top.  Then start opening the plastic film from one end, stopping half way.  Finish by opening the plastic film from the other end and remove it.  Now you're ready to eat!

Did it work? Our tester was not impressed.  She found taking off the top cover for the "Pop up Bowl" to be difficult and messy.  While she liked the idea of her popcorn coming out of the microwave in a bowl all ready to eat, she says she doesn't like it enough to keep buying the product.

Cost/Availability? You can purchase a box with six bags of Orville Redenbacher's Pop Up Bowl popcorn at Wal-mart for about $3.00.
