NORFOLK -- At age 82, Amy Bradner sometimes finds it hard to many of the things young people take for granted.

"I can't squat down. My knees won't let me, and bending over to pick up something I can't do."

Her family has bought her several gripping devices to help her.  She says she keeps one in each room.

“So I don't have to walk back and forth to find one," she explains.

If the Deluxe Gopher II works, it could be added to her household.

The device has a handle that can be turned so you can get into tight spaces.

She hopes it can handle some heavier items, not just hard-to-reach items.

"The suction cups would be nice on cans or glasses and jars," she noted.

"This can do things that mine couldn't because of these suction cups, I think,” Bradner noted.

Besides its strength, Bradner liked that it folded for easy storage.

“I could fit it right there and just take it with me,” she added.
