CHESAPEAKE - The Chesapeake Sherrif's Office Plane Pull Team is headed to DC once again and the five-time defending champions are looking for another win. This is part of the 2012 Dulles Day Festival and Plane Pull at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. and the team from Chesapeake is helping to raise money for the Virginia Special Olympics.

In the off-season, the crew practices by training in an unusual way. They don't have a plane to practice with, so they tie up to a Chesapeake Fire Department truck and pull away. The competition sees a team of 25 and a rope attached to 196,000 pound airbus, and the fastest time to pull the plane 12 feet wins the top prize and bragging rights among the nearly 100 teams registered.

The Dulles Day Festival and Plane Pull is on Saturday, September 22 in Washington D.C. For more information and to find out how you can make a donation to the Virginia Special Olympics, go to the Chesapeake Sherrif's Office Fundraising Page.
