HAMPTON --If you have old computers you need to get rid of, you can do it and help the programs of Goodwill.

Goodwill, Hampton Clean City Commission, TFC Recycling and Peninsula Town Center are collecting your old computers and related items from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2  in the lot behind Outback Steakhouse and next to Target in Peninsula Town Center.  That's at Mercury Blvd. and Coliseum Drive.

Volunteers and Goodwill donation attendants will help unload items, answer questions and provide donation receipts.

TFC Recycling also will accept cardboard recycling and answer questions about curbside recycling.

Goodwill accepts computers of any brand and age and peripherals in any condition. Through its Reconnect Partnership with Dell, the most of the computers will refurbished and resold in Goodwill stores.

E-cycling eligible items:
Desktop and laptop computers
Printers
Cell phones
PDAs
Power cords
Monitors
Game systems

In 2011, Goodwill serving Hampton Roads and Central Virginia kept more than 1.32 million pounds of e-waste out of area landfills.

Resale of donated goods provides Goodwill with the revenue for job skills training and career development services for individuals with disadvantages and disabilities in our area.
