NORFOLK - It will take some brave souls to muster up the courage to descend from the heights of the Main Street Tower this weekend.
This is part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's "Over the Edge" fundraiser that kicks off at 9 a.m. from the 14th floor of the downtown Norfolk skyscraper. The first 114 individuals or teams that raise a minimum of $1500 will have the chance to rappel the 200-foot sheer drop to the safety of Main Street. Companies and organizations can also get the funds together to "Toss Your Boss" and watch their supervisors scale the side of the Main Street Tower.
One of these lucky individuals is Karen Webb, the President and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia, and her fellow colleagues were more than willing to cough up the cash for this great adventure.
13News was live this morning with Webb as she sized up the view from atop the 14th floor. She was definitely a little nervous to say the least.
All money raised by the "Over the Edge" rappellers goes to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
