VIRGINIA BEACH- The Virginia Beach Aquarium and Marine Science Center has partnered with Goodwill and TFC Recycling for their 7th E-cycle event this Saturday, September 29. This is part of the Hampton Roads Sustainable Living Expo out at the Virginia Beach Convention Center and if you have some old electronic equipment sitting around you garage, attic, or basement, they'll be happy to take it off your hands.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. residents can bring unwanted technology-oriented items to the west parking lot of the convention center. The E-cycle folks are looking for desktops, laptops, printers, cell phones, and all other kinds of computer peripherals. They will take up to 50 pounds of shredding material as well, and staff and volunteers will provide receipts for tax purposes and provide information about how these contributions help protect the environment. Goodwill participates in technology recycling with Dell computers in the Reconnect Program, which helps divert technology and electronic equipment from filling Virginia landfills.

And no worries about your personal information on computers and cellphones, because Goodwill will securely wipe all electronic items clean.
