WASHINGTON, DC -- The US Dept. of Energy will release its report on gas prices Wednesday morning.
Prices at the pump have gone down a nickel since last week, falling below $3.50 a gallon nationally.
Falling prices give us more money to spend and, thanks to cheaper gas, consumer prices dropped last month by the biggest amount in almost four years.
Triple A says oil prices have dropped 20 percent in the last few weeks, so prices could drop another dime by the July 4 holiday.
This news is coming in the summer vacation driving season, when prices traditionally have gone up, not down.
