What Are The Instructions? It's important to note when applying Wipe New, you need to use nitrile gloves and always use it in a well-ventilated area. Wipe New is not intended for use on paint, glass or mirrored surfaces. If you're applying near windows, roll them down before you begin to prevent contact with the glass. You don't need a lot of Wipe New to get the job done. Only 1 to 1.5 ounces of Wipe New is needed to coat the interior or exterior trim on an average mid-sized sedan. You should let Wipe New dry for an hour before touching the treated surface.
Plan to work on the highest point of your vehicle down to the lowest. It helps to keep freshly-coated surfaces from being touched before they are dry.
You also may want to check the weather before using Wipe New. That's because you need to allow 24 hours after application before exposing treated surfaces to moisture like rain, dew, sprinklers or a car wash. You should not apply Wipe New to a hot surface or in direct sunlight.
After washing and drying your vehicle, you should move it to a shaded area and allow the surface to cool before applying Wipe New. If you do apply Wipe New on a hot surface, it will require you to use more of the product than you would normally need and it may also cause the surface to become streaked.
If Wipe New comes in contact with an unintended surface like paint, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth. If Wipe New begins to dry on the applicator cloth, streaking may occur. If the applicator cloth is still damp, you can rewet it with more Wipe New. Once the applicator cloth dries out completely, it cannot be used again. It must be thrown out.
There are more specific instructions for the different surfaces you may be restoring or renewing. Wipe New comes with a complete instruction booklet that it is recommended you read before using the product.
Once you have finish with Wipe New, be sure to store it tightly covered in a cool, dry place and discard it within a year of purchase.
Did it work? Pitchford was very impressed. While he didn't want to use Wipe New on his whole car, the parts he did work on looked like new again. He was especially impressed with the headlights. In the past, he has had to pay a mechanic to get his lights looking new again so he could pass inspection. Wipe New did it in just minutes, plus it shined the door panels in his SUV.
