Consumer Minute: More GM recalls and "Frozen" hits it big

General Motors is recalling 429,000 more vehicles, including its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pick up trucks.  Also included are brand new 2015 Chevy Suburbans, Tahoes and GMC Yukons.  This recall is to fix a transmission oil cooler line that is not securely set.  This recall is in addition to the 172,000 Chevy Cruze sedans being recalled for a front axle defect and the close to 1- million vehicles recalled for defective ignition switches. 

Here's some news that could stop a lot of embarrassment and injury.  Apple wants to help stop "walking and texting" accidents.  The company has filed a new patent for "transparent texting."  It would provide a live feed of your surroundings right in the iPhone's texting app.

Would a free cup of coffee help you decide where to eat breakfast?  McDonald's is hoping it will.  The fast food giant is in a breakfast battle with Taco Bell, which just started serving breakfast.  So for the next two weeks, McDonald's is offering a free cup of coffee in hopes of enticing diners inside.  Why the big push? Breakfast accounts for a fifth of McDonald's revenue.

The Disney animated feature "Frozen" is bringing in a lot of revenue.  It is now the highest grossing animated film of all time, beating out Toy Story 3.  "Frozen" passed $1 billion in worldwide ticket sales this weekend.
