Sugar Plum Bakery in Virginia Beach is known for its gorgeous cakes.
But making a cake and actually cutting into it are two different things. That's why we asked the employment specialist at the bakery Tamara Coleman to try out the Kake Kut'r.
Her first reaction was, "It's very lightweight and has a very easy, very easy grip."
Coleman may work for a bakery but she's not a baker, so she was careful to read all of the instructions before digging in.
"With a gentle squeeze of the Kake Kut'r handles, lift the slice, place the slice on a plate and simply release the handles. A perfect piece of cake served elegantly every time."
She make the first cut, which always seems to be the most difficult. But there was a problem
"Oh goodness. I didn't go all the way down to the bottom."
To keep that from happening again, she adopted a new Kake Kut'r strategy.
"I felt like I was trying to grip something with one hand that wasn't meant to be gripped like that. So, two hands works best for me."
Coleman said Kake Kut'r was still a little awkward for her, especially in comparison for to a regular knife.
So, in her opinion, does it work?
"I'd say pass and go with the knife and spatula."
