Christine Erie enjoys making snacks for her son and his friends. They like Rice Krispie treats, but they're not her favorite.
"I don't make them very often just because they're so messy and real sticky. They're hard to make and they don't turn out like they do in the store," she said.
So, she agreed to try the new Rice Krispies Treatmaker.
It lets you make and bake your treats in one pan, which just snaps into place.
She followed directions.
First, she sprayed the pan with Pam oil.
Then she filled the pan with butter and marshmallows and put it in the microwave.
She set the timer for two minutes and then stirred things up a bit. "They're melting," she noted.
Then, she put in the Rice Krispies.
"This is probably the hardest part -- getting it all mixed in together."
Erie used the spatula included with the special all in one pan but she didn't like it much. "The handle could be a little longer. It's a little bit short."
But she got it all mixed together and flattened the treats with the spatula to cool.
The treats passed the taste test, but did the treatmaker work for Mom?
"I would say it works great and is definitely a good product. It saves a lot of time, which is important," she said.
