Esthetcian Susie Harris makes skin feel fresh and rejuvenated. It's her job.
So, she tested the Igia Pore Cleanzer. The battery-powered suction tool claims to clean deep below the surface to help prevent breakouts.
Harris isn't sure it has the power to extract anything. But she put her skeptcism aside and put it to the test.
First, she washed her face then wet it, like the instructions said.
Harris used the face attachment. After the first few tries, she realized the suction does have some strength, but "... on sensitive skin, it would definitely break capillaries. But there's not enough suction to remove any kind of long term blockage."
Harris determined the tool has enough strength to make you uncomfortable. "It actually was quite painful. This is quite a fleshy area along the cheekbone. If you use it on the nose or around the chin area, it might be even more painful."
Harris says using acne or anti-aging creams will make your skin even more sensitive. So, you might guess, she's not impressed with Igia Pore Cleanzer. "I would say it doesn't work. You could in effect cause permanent scaring in some ways if you were to use this too much in certain areas."
The Igia Pore Cleanzer costs $19.99.
