Microwaves were designed to make cooking meals quick and easy. They do that, but cleaning up can be a real mess and not quick or easy.
17-year-old John Costanzo likes to make his own meals, in the microwave. He doesn't like cleaning up afterwards. His mom found the latest spills and had him try Easy Off Microwave Cleaning Wipes.
He put an unopened packet inside and turned on the microwave for a minute. Then, following the directions, "three minute wait then clean with rag."
The three minutes were up and he removed the wipes from the package. "I t's very smelly ... like a very bad lemon smell. Ugh," he said.
Undaunted, he started scrubbing. "It comes off but you've got to rub it hard. It's better than Windex or something. I'm not exactly like wowed by it but it worked well enough."
But what was Mom's opinion. "I think it worked great for inbetween cleanings, but nothing beats good old fashion elbow grease," she said.
