For almost a year, Cherie Sutty has been making pizzas at Delvecchio's in Norfolk. A popular pizza topping is the mushroom. So she's had practice slicing them just right.
Could Mushroom Express make the task even easier? She grabbed some mushrooms and got to work. "It would work really well for at-home use because you can't always get perfect slices with a knife. You could also chop your fingers off and that would be bad."
The slices come out perfect, but Sutty doesn't think they're too thick for pizzas. "They're good for salads definitely. For pizza, you have to slice them thinner."
She noticed a potential problem with the Mushroom Express. "You have to have a good grip. You can't have slippery hands. Also, don't take it straight out of the sink and use it because you'll probably cut yourself," Sutty warned.
The gadget has nine stainless steel slicing blades and they're pretty sharp.
Mushroom Express also claims to work for bananas, strawberries, kiwi and even eggs.
After putting it to her own test, what does Sutty think of the mushroom express. "I think it works really well."
The hardest part for Sutty was getting it out of the package. "That little compressed plastic--you need scissors and maybe even a chainsaw," she joked.
